Yan Xiaonan, born in Shenyang China, is the first Chinese female fighter signed by UFC, and currently ranked #3 of the Women's Strawweight division. Yan was obsessed with martial arts and kung fu movies when she was a child. She started traditional martial arts training at age of 13 and then switched to Sanda. In 2015, Yan chose to continue her fighting career from a hiatus and transfer to MMA. After a 7-1 record at various promotions, Yan made her UFC debut in 2017, and holds a record of 17-3. Besides fighting, Yan loves manga, tattoos and spending time with her 3 lovely dogs. “Born to fight” is also a tattoo behind her ear.
